che segna la consacrazione vera e propria del gruppo, guidato dal suo ormai famoso leader, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Mark Knopfler&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, chitarrista e cantante dalle qualità innate, con quel suo gusto sempre unico nel creare delle splendide canzoni e melodie pur non snaturando il sound rock del gruppo. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Il disco si sviluppa attraverso i classici stilemi della band, con la chitarra magica di Knopfler a guidare tutti supportata questa volta da un uso sempre più massiccio di tastiere e sintetizzatori come nella briosa e allegra &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Walk Of Life&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, famosissima hit del gruppo col suo refrain ormai diventato storico insieme all'intro eseguito dai sintetizzatori. La chitarra di Knopfler è comunque sempre presente come nel boogie rock dell'opener &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;So Far Away&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, o nella successiva &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Money For Nothing&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, con i suoi synth in evidenza e la chitarra distorta, altro classico della band che, quasi a pagare dazio alla leggera somiglianza del ritornello con &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Don't Stand So Close To Me&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; dei &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Police&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; vede proprio lo stesso &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Sting&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; a prestare la propria voce nell'intro e nel chorus. (Da aggiungere, che la canzone presenta una forte critica al consumismo esagerato di quel periodo, e risulterà essere la canzone cui videoclip fu il primo in assoluto ad essere trasmesso in UK nel 1987). Non mancano i momenti rilassanti e romantici, quali &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Your Latest Trick&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, canzone struggente quasi strumentale un po' retrò nel suono grazie alla aggiunta sapiente del sax, o dalla "ninna-nanna" &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Why Worry&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, in cui la chitarra e la voce sottile di Knopfler si fondono con le tastiere di un bravissimo Alan &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Clarke&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; fino alla lunga parte finale tutta strumentale. Spazio anche ai percussionisti nella tribale Ride Across The River, in cui hanno spazio anche i corni suonati da&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; Michael Brecker &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;e&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; Malcom Dunca&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;n, e alla chitarra acustica di Knopfler in &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;The Man's Too Strong&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, dal sapore folk-country e con degli stacchi elettrici quasi in contrapposizione al cantato lento di Mark, che ne fanno quasi un'ottima colonna sonora per un film western all'americana. Si torna al rock più classico con &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;One World&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; con le sue ottime tessiture di chitarra elettrica di sottofondo, prima di arrivare alla conclusione dell'album, affidata alla titletrack, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Brothers In Arms&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;. La canzone dove la grandezza della chitarra di Mark Knopfler crea un atmosfera epica, trascinante. Il tema trattato è quello degli orrori della guerra, e quale miglior mezzo di comunicazione della chitarra elettrica che tesse magici assoli e melodie che solo un artista completo come Knopfler può creare. Se da un lato però la lingua tedesca risulta alla massa incomprensibile, con conseguente poco interesse ai testi, dall'altro è un punto di forza, elemento che permette di far risaltare una certa cattiveria e potenza nel sound generale della band. C'è da aggiungere che il loro industrial metal è sempre meno puro, con molti riffoni di chitarra in puro stile heavy metal e pochi riferimenti all'elettronica, che comunque permane per tutto il disco. Molto probabilmente Mutter è proprio l'unione perfetta tra l'industrial e l'heavy metal. Le canzoni musicalmente sono dei schiacciasassi, con i riff della premiata ditta &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Kruspe-Landers&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, sempre presenti e direi "possenti", con una solida e selvaggia base ritmica dettata da &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Olivier Riedel&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; al basso e da &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Christoph Schneider&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; alla batteria. Ottimi i vari effetti elettronici con tutte le sperimentazioni del caso affidate a &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Christian Lorenz&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, in pieno stile &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Tanz Metall&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; (termine coniato dal gruppo stesso per definire il proprio sound, appunto l'unione del metal con l'elettronica). Il disco spazia dall'opener quasi epica &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Mein Herz Brennt&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; fino alle più dirette e dure &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Ich Will&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Sonne&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; o &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Feuer Frei&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; con un Lindemann sempre sugli scudi, col suo cantato aggressivo pronto a dettare i ritmi. Non mancano episodi più calmi come la titletrack &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Mutter &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;("madre")&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;o la conclusiva &lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Nebel &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;in cui la band sembra quasi prendersi dei momenti di riposo prima di riprendere a picchiare duro. Nonostante varie accuse di essere banali e di dare poca importanza ai testi, i Rammstein introducono in questo dico varie tematiche poetiche citando autori più o meno famosi, un modus operandi che continuerà per i dischi successivi. Altra nota di merito alla produzione, impeccabile in questo caso nel dare il giusto apporto sonoro alle chitarre, alle tastiere e alla stessa voce di Lindemann per un risultato davvero ottimo. Con oltre&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; 231 milioni di dischi venduti&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, innumerevoli riconoscimenti e premi come: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;7 Billboard music awards, 2 Academy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 12 World Music awards, 21 Juno Awards, 3 Golden Globe&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; e vari primati tra cui: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;unica cantante ad aver radunato più di 90.000 persone in un solo concerto e unica artista femminile ad avere due album che hanno venduto più 31 milioni di copie ciascuno&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;. Uno di questi due album è per l'appunto Falling Into You.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ventunesimo album della cantante canadese, il disco è un tripudio della musica pop che porterà lo stesso album a rimanere per ben &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;31 settimane nella top 10 della Billboard 200 Chart&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; (primato condiviso solo da &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Thriller di Michael Jackson e Jagged Little Pill di Alanis Morissette&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;). Ed ecco che abbiamo il trionfo delle canzoni d'amore, guidate da linee di piano come la cover di Jim Steinman &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;It's All Coming Back To Me&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; o la famosissima &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;All By Myself&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; (cover di Eric Carmen) con una prestazione vocale da oscar da parte della Dion. Il singolo più venduto dell'album rimane comunque &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Because You Loved Me&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, una delle canzoni più vendute nel 1996 e più passate in radio, una struggente ballad dove la cantante porta magicamente in musica tutti i ringraziamenti che un una persona innamorata possa fare alla persona che ha al proprio fianco, ringraziandola per l'amore che trasmette, unico motore della propria vita. La formazione perfetta di una delle band più importanti e storiche del panorama progressive anni 70 e del rock in generale. Più comunemente chiamati Yes, la formazione inglese, ha rivoluzionato il mondo della musica rock dando alla luce degli album intrisi di tecnicismi e virtuosismi mai banali, melodie ricercate, orchestrazioni e tastiere in evidenza, tematiche di un certo spessore, creando quel Progressive Rock che sarebbe stato un modello di esempio per moltissime band in futuro (vedi &lt;i&gt;Dream Theater&lt;/i&gt; in primis). In questo periodo, a rendere la musica quasi un opera d'arte, gli Yes non erano però gli unici esponenti di spicco, ma vi troviamo altre importanti band (soprattutto dalla Gran Bretagna) quali i &lt;i&gt;Genesis, King Crimson, Emerson Lake &amp;amp; Palmer, Van Der Graaf Generator e nel nostro paese band quali la PFM, il Banco del Mutuo soccorso.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;Gli Yes nel 1972 venivano già dal loro più grande capolavoro che risponde al nome di &lt;b&gt;Fragile&lt;/b&gt;, con la famosa Roundabout (citata nel film School of Rock, dove Jack Black consiglia al suo giovane allievo tastierista di "studiarsi" la suddetta canzone per capire in pieno cosa significhi suonare una tastiera) che li aveva ormai consacrati nell'olimpo delle grandi band con un album praticamente perfetto nel genere. L'armoniosa voce di Anderson, cosi evocativa e mistica, gli intrecci musicali fra tutti gli strumenti, con i loro fraseggi complicati e i continui cambi di tempo, l'influenze classiche sempre presenti nelle tessiture di tastiera del grandissimo &lt;b&gt;Rick Wakeman&lt;/b&gt;. Elementi imprescindibili che hanno fatto la fortuna di questo gruppo che non contento, continuando con questa lineup, sforna un altro capolavoro a distanza di un solo anno. &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;Close To The Edge ("Vicino al Bordo")&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;, questa volta però sotto forma di concept album, in cui si dice Anderson si sia ispirato al Siddharta di Herman Hesse, in cui si ha un risveglio "spirituale" di un giovane sul bordo di un fiume che rappresenta la vita del suo spirito. Il disco è diviso in 3 sole tracce, la &lt;b&gt;Titletrack, And You And I e Siberian Khatru&lt;/b&gt;, rispettivamente di 18 minuti, 10 minuti e 9 minuti., che a loro volte sono suddivise in tanti passaggi (tranne Siberian Khatru) uniti fra loro senza compromettere l'ascolto, tanto che si fa fatica a notare il distacco tra un passaggio e un altro.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;Si inizia con Close To The Edge, che dopo un intro di soli uccelli cinguettare con il suono di cascate in lontananza comincia il pezzo che per i primi 3 minuti si snoda sull'intreccio di tutti gli strumenti prima dell'arrivo della voce evocativa di &lt;b&gt;Jon Anderson&lt;/b&gt; che traina tutta la canzone, con i suoi testi filosofici a farla da padrone ("Down at the edge, down by the river, close to the edge, round by the corner") fino ad arrivare alle parole che continueranno nei movimenti successivi ("I get up, I get down.."). Canzone capolavoro della band, la titletrack mette in mostra tutti i principali pregi della band, con menzione speciale per Rick Wakeman che delizia le orecchie con uno stupendo assolo d'organo quasi ecclesiastico. La canzone poi continuerà con vari cambi di tempo, e con reprise dei movimenti precedenti con l'aggiunta di vari cori a supporto di Anderson. And You And I invece dura molto meno della titletrack e ha i vari passaggi un po' più staccati fra loro, senza però perdere la magia classica della band. La canzone si apre con degli arpeggi di un magistrale &lt;b&gt;Steve Howe&lt;/b&gt; sulla sua acustica per poi accompagnare gli altri strumenti dove però ne esce da vincitore Wakeman e la sua tastiera. Protagonista indiscusso in tutta la traccia, le sue tastiere sono l'elemento di maggior risalto in questa canzone con tutti gli altri musicisti a fare da supporto, fatta eccezione per la voce di Anderson. A chiusura abbiamo un brano più nei canoni classici del format canzone, con pochi cambi di tempo e bellissimi vocalizzi corali, con un fantastico intermezzo dettato ancora una volta dall'organi di Wakeman e dalla chitarra di Howe. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;Purtroppo gli Yes non si sarebbero mai più ripetuti su questi livelli cambiando spesso formazione (già alla pubblicazione del disco Bill Bruford passò alla corte dei King Crimson), non riuscendo più a ricreare quella perfetta magia che caratterizza Fragile e il suddetto Close To The Edge.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Tracklist:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;      1. Reduci da un album d'esordio (Showbiz, 1999) che cominciò a far girare il nome Muse in giro per il mondo presentando sonorità molto vicine ai Radiohead di Tom Yorke &amp;amp; Co. ma che con una certa ricercatezza nelle melodie, nei riff e grazie alla voce potente di Bellamy, riuscirono a farsi notare come band dalle ottime potenzialità. La band intanto matura passando per Origin of Simmetry (2001) uno dei migliori lavori del gruppo, che alterna pezzi energetici e potenti a pezzi più calmi e "sperimentali" fusi in un songwriting di maggior spessore e carattere, dando il giusto merito al lavoro di Bellamy, uomo macchina tutto fare della band (cantante, chitarrista, tastierista) nonostante l'ottimo lavoro in fase ritmica dato Chris Wolstenholme e Dominic Howard.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Absolution segue tutto questo, segnando un passo fondamentale della band: modellare sempre più le canzoni in vista di un successo commerciale che sarebbe arrivato di li a poco, senza abbandonare le atmosfere ora oniriche ora pesanti e "metalliche".&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;L'album parte con un intro, che fa da preludio ad Apocalypse Please, col suo quasi martellante pianoforte, scandito e seguito dal basso e dalla batteria ad accompagnare la voce di Bellamy, subito calda con le sue modulazioni e acuti in falsetto. Segue il singolo Time Is Running Out, e immediatamente il successo e la "fama" per la band con moltissimi passaggi su Mtv, cosa che ha cominciato a far crescere la loro importanza. Io stesso iniziai a interessarmi e seguirli dopo aver ascoltato questo pezzo fortemente potente, con un giro di basso in evidenza in coppia con uno schiocco di dita nelle strofe fino al ritornello quasi catchy che si conclude però con dei coretti non proprio azzeccatissimi. La successiva Sing for Absolution invece fa rilassare l'ascoltatore, guidato dal piano e dalla voce adesso soave di Bellamy, sempre presente col suo falsetto ormai riconoscibilissimo. Attenzione particolare meritano Hysteria e Stockholm Syndrome: due tracce molto aggressive, dal retrogusto metal che scaraventano chi ascolta in un vortice di potenza sonora unico. La prima, nonostante il suo famoso giro di basso distorto e quella chitarra acida nelle strofe, dimostra l'anima dei Muse, saper fare canzoni potenti, con vari effetti nelle strumentazioni, pur mantenendo una certa commercialità di fondo e una certa melodia portante. La seconda invece, che parla proprio della sindrome di Stoccolma (condizione psicologica in cui una vittima di un sequesto può provare sentimenti positivi per il proprio rapitore, arrivando addirittura ad innamorarsene) è una canzone metal a tutti gli effetti: riff iniziale di chitarra cattivo e duro, entrata della batteria e del basso in un unico flusso musicale che fa da sfondo alla voce di Bellamy che ricorre spesso al falsetto fino al ritornello impreziosito dal piano e sorretto da una sezione ritmica martellante. Altro discorso invece per Falling Away With You, malinconica, triste, eseguita per il primo minuto con solo la voce di Bellamy sorretta da una chitarra pulita, a mostrare quasi i due lati della stessa medaglia, o Butterflies and hurricanes, dove un efficace orchestrazione fa da contorno a una delle canzoni della band più pesantemente influenzate dalla musica classica, basti vedere l'assolo di piano a metà canzone, perfetto. Questo e altro sono i Muse: aggressività, potenza, malinconica, tristezza, energia, influenze classiche in un alchemia perfetta. Al sentire queste parole le prime cose che vengono in mente sono il gruppo che l'ha incisa, gli Extreme, e la sua semplice struttura basata su una chitarra acustica e una voce lenta e romantica che ha fatto sognare milioni di persone agli inizi degli anni 90. Pochi però sanno che il genere proposto dalla band è un po' lontano dalla ballad che li ha consacrati al grande pubblico. Il primo disco della band di Boston capitanata da Gary Cherone (futuro cantante dei Van Halen dopo la dipartita di Sammy Hagar) e dal funambolico Nuno Bettencourt ricalca la moda di fine anni 80 dell'hair metal, con cori in evidenza, melodie subito riconoscibili, pur apportando qualche piccola influenza Funky, elemento che dal prossimo disco della band, Pornograffiti (dove vi è More Than Words) li caratterizzerà in modo più marcato.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Parte del merito comunque va al grandissimo lavoro alla chitarra di Nuno Bettencourt, che prendendosi la responsabilità di un Eddie Van Halen, sforna riff come se niente fosse, passando ad assoli mai noiosi o banali. Uno dei chitarristi ritmici più bravi che siano mai esistiti (nessun riff viene mai rifatto nello stesso modo da Nuno, che porta sempre passaggi o soluzioni nuove) che grazie alla sua chiara matrice funk distacca gli Extreme dalle tante band cloni di quel periodo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Il disco scivola via con canzoni aggressive di chiara matrice hard rock quali Little Girls (chiara ispirazione Van Halen o Aerosmith) Kid Go, Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today (con un riff imparentato stretto con quello di Unchained dei Van Halen), col classico ritornello intonato da tutto il gruppo. Vi sono anche dei bei lenti come Watching, Waiting con un Cherone in grande spolvero o episodi meno duri come Wind Me Up. Menzione d'onore per Play With Me, che contiene l'essenza dei primi Extreme: fraseggio iniziale di nuno che sfocia in un riff serrato fino al ritornello cantato da tutta la band, una parte cantata da dei bambini che fa da preparazione ad uno degli assoli più belli che Bettencourt abbia mai composto ed eseguito. Chapeaux! D'altronde per una band di questa caratura, sarebbe alquanto riduttivo venire rinchiusi dentro delle "pareti" di questo o quel genere, in una sorta di prigione per tutti quei musicisti in grado di destreggiarsi grazie alla loro bravura in diversi stili musicali. Nel caso di grandi band, o di band che hanno fatto la storia della musica, proprio come la band di Mercury (o per es. i Rush) si parla di periodi più o meno lunghi dove il gruppo si cimenta in un determinato genere. I Queen degli anni 80, lasciandosi alle spalle quello stile barocco e corposo, pieno di sovraincisioni vocali e strutture musicalmente complessi, cercando di "semplificare" un po' il loro sound. Ed ecco che inizia il periodo più commerciale (anche se sarebbe riduttivo usare il termine commerciale in questo caso) iniziato con The Game del 1980 che nonostante le ottime vendite del singolo Another One Bites The Dust vede all'interno inserti dell'appena nata disco music e dei sintetizzatori, strumenti in passato sempre rifiutati in studio di registrazione Nonostante le prime discordie tra i fan il gruppo continua su questa strada prima con Hot Space nell'1982 con al suo interno varie influenze funky e poi due anni dopo con The Works che vedeva al suo interno un leggero ritorno ai classici stilemi della band (giri di basso riconoscibili, e riff di chitarra imponenti vedi Hammer To Fall), non dimenticando del tutto le influenze disco (Radio Ga Ga).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Si deve ad A Kind Of Magic il ritorno della band a un suono più classico, più rock. L'album in realtà è la colonna sonora del film Highlander - L'ultimo immortale (con Cristopher Lambert), fattore che determina in modo determinante il successo dell'album soprattutto in terra madre inglese, dove raggiunge la posizione num. 1 e rimanendo per ben 63 settimane in classifica. Il sound della band si fa pià diretto, più tagliente, aggressivo, pur senza dimenticare i momenti rilassanti o "stravaganti" come One Year Of Love, canzone malinconica scritta da Deacon che vede un pianoforte e la splendida voce di Freddie Mercury, e un assolo di sax (a causa di una lite tra lo stesso Deacon e May che vide il primo tagliare l'assolo di chitarra aggiungendo il sax). Il disco comunque si apre con una delle canzoni che da quel momento in poi sarebbe diventata l'opener dei loro concerti e cioè One Vision. Voce quasi diabolica iniziale accompagnata da una tastiera che prepara pian piano ad uno dei riff più riconoscibili della storia del rock. Segue la title track, con una sezione ritmica quasi basilare e con la melodiosa e armoniosa voce di Freddie tiene l'ascoltatore ancorato sulla sedia. La semplicità continua con Friends Will Be Friends, altro classico dei Queen, che nonostante la struttura semplice, ci regala quella musica genuina affrontando il tema dell'amicizia. Menzione d'onore va a due delle più belle canzoni che la Regina abbia mai composto: Who Wants To Live Forever e Princes Of The Universe. L'epicità e la grandezza della prima, credo siano fuori discussione, cosi come penso siano pochi su questo pianeta a non conoscerla. Grazie alle orchestrazioni e ad una prestazione assolutamente "aliena" di Freddie Mercury porta chi la ascolta a fermare tutto per cinque minuti, e assaporare la magia trasmessa. Princes of the universe invece è assolutamente una scarica di adrenalina ad alti livelli, rock diretto e aggressivo grazie a Mercury e alle secondi voci, sempre presenti e marchio di fabbrica della band. Cambio di tempo a metà canzone, velocità aumentata e un Freddie sugli scudi che incita come solo un vero frontman sa fare sorretto dal riffing serrato di May che esplode poi nei ritornelli finali. Dopo essersi separato dai Deep purple (e aver dato alla luce capolavori come Burn o Stormbringer) il singer si imbarcò in questo progetto risultando in quasi 30 anni di carriera l'unico membro dalla fondazione della band a essere presente in tutti gli album. Il genere proposto almeno all'inizio era un hard rock con venature blues, grazie anche alla capacità vocali di mr. Coverdale, che lo hanno consacrato nell'olimpo dei migliori frontman-cantanti del panorama rock mondiale. Il vero successo, coronato da più di 8 milioni di  copie vendute solo negli USA arrivò soltanto nel 1987 con l'album, intitolato appunto 1987. In realtà l'album ebbe 3 diversi titoli, in Giappone venne intitolato "Serpens Albus"(serpente bianco in latino), in Europa appunto "1987", e negli USA semplicemente "Whitesnake, con conseguenti cambi di tracklist. Coverdale da musicista intelligente vedendo il panorama musicale completamente in mano alle hair metal band (Bon jovi, Motley crue, Def Leppard), prova a modificare il classico stile della band, eliminando quelle influenze blues e passando ai famosi ritornelli facili da ricordare, grandi cori, centrando l'obiettivo. Il risultato è un hard rock melodico di grande caratura che lo consacrerà non solo come migliore album della band ma come uno dei migliori album hard rock della storia. Alla corte del serpente bianco stavolta abbiamo un magistrale John Sykes alla chitarra (ex Thin Lizzy) Ainsley Dunbar alla batteria (ex Journey, David Bowie, F. Zappa) e Neil Murray al basso, che insieme al già citato Coverdale sfornano una prestazione fuori dal comune.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:georgia;" &gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;Il disco alterna momenti puramente hard rock quali l'opener Still of the night (dove la grinta e lo stile blues di coverdale regnano), Bad Boys e Give Me All Your Lovin, ad altri meno pesanti e più melodici quali Straight to your heart, la ballad Is This Love o Looking For Love. Il disco inoltre presenta 3 tracce già presenti in album precedenti della band, reincise in modo differente quali Fool For You Lovin (Ready And Willing), Here I Go Again e Crying In The Rain (da Saints and sinners). STARBREAKER (2005)</title><content type='html'>&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_H_wjptvaKR8/TAUaLqVVsnI/AAAAAAAAACY/zP5LXWAzH68/s1600/Starbreaker+-+Starbreaker+-+Front.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 318px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_H_wjptvaKR8/TAUaLqVVsnI/AAAAAAAAACY/zP5LXWAzH68/s320/Starbreaker+-+Starbreaker+-+Front.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5477813309410751090" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;La storia di questa band inizia nel 2005 grazie all'unione di due grandissimi musicisti: Tony Harnell, dotatissimo cantante svedese che in molti ricorderanno voce nei TNT, e Magnus Karlsson, chitarrista che nel 2005 non era ancora proprio conosciutissimo ma che aveva già fatto parlare di se gli esperti del settore progressive-melodic metal grazie alla sua band, i Last Tribe, grazie al suo riffing preciso e tenace e che in futuro verrà chiamato nei Primal Fear di Ralf Scheepers ad occupare il posto di chitarra ritmica lasciato vacante dal defezionario Stefan Liebing.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;Ai due musicisti si vanno ad aggiungere Fabrizio Grossi al basso, bassista noto per aver collaborato con gente del calibro di Steve Vai, Frank Gambale o David Lee Roth per citarne alcuni, e produttore di molte band quali House Of Lords, Slash, Steve Lukather, che ha offerto il proprio contributo anche in fase di mixing, coadiuvando il lavoro di Karlsson in fase di produzione, e John Macaluso (ex Malmsteen, ARK, James LaBrie) col suo drumming potente e aggressivo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"   style="font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;La proposta musicale offerta dalla band si avvicina più a quel melodic metal vicino ai Last tribe di Karlsson piuttosto che all'hard rock dei vecchi TNT di Harnell, con ritmi veloci e riff granitici con una melodia di sottofondo che magari si ripete spesso nella canzone. (Costante che troveremo nei futuri lavori di Karlsson vedi il progetto Allen/Lande.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;L'intero album è un concentrato di potenza: inizia Lies che trainata da un intro possente e una strofa quasi calma esplode poi in un ritornello urlato da Harnell quasi a sottolineare le menzogne che ogni giorno sentiamo dappertutto ("Lies, on the tv screen, in the magazine, everything"...) e continua con Break My Bones, che parte subito in quarta, veloce e potente con Harnell e Karlsson capaci di sfornare una prestazione veramente da oscar. Proseguendo troviamo varie canzoni con dei piccoli innesti di pianoforte, ma senza mai snaturare il sound della band, vedi Days of confusion, Underneath a falling sky e Light at the end of the world che nonostante le intro calme e quasi malinconiche arrivano man mano ad esplodere nei loro ritornelli. In poche righe si può dire che già da giovanissimo arrivò alla corte di quel genio di Frank Zappa, che prima gli diede l'incarico di trascrittore di partiture, e dopo di esecutore dei suoi pezzi più complicati. In seguito girò in varie band: prima negli Alcatrazz sostituendo un altro guitar hero come Malmsteen e pubblicando Disturbing the peace, poi nel 86 entra a far parte del gruppo di David Lee Roth (appena uscito dai Van Halen) suonando nei suoi primi due album da solista (Eat'em and smile, Skyscraper). Nel 1987 viene chiamato a sostituire l'infortunato Adrian Vandenberg negli Whitesnake di mister David Coverdale poco prima delle registrazioni di Slip Of The Tongue (masterpiece del serpente bianco). &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;A questo punto comincia la sua fortunata carriera solista, dedicandosi anche al progetto G3 (concerto in cui si esibiscono prima a turno, e poi in una jam tutti insieme, tre chitarristi che eseguono canzoni del proprio repertorio) in giro per l'america con il suo insegnante di chitarra e grandissimo amico Joe Satriani, andando a formare la coppia più stabile di tutto il progetto (variando solamente il terzo chitarrist).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Il successo arrivò con Passions And Warfare, album interamente strumentale concepito sulla base di alcuni sogni che lo stesso Vai ebbe in gioventù. L'album mostra quanto sia geniale, contorto e mistico lo stesso chitarrista. L'album è un tripudio di melodie, di effetti, e ovviamente di virtuosismi (d'altronde non a caso è considerato uno dei più grandi virtuosi di sempre) dai ritmi sostenuti e riff vulcanici di Erotic Nightmares, fino ad un altrettanto energica the animal (ottimo il lavoro di Stu Hamm al basso), a Answers con tutte le sue sperimentazioni e strani effetti di chitarra, tanto cari a Vai e che faranno la sua fortuna.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Come non citare For The Love Of God, probabilmente il pezzo più famoso del chitarrista, basata su un tema molto intimo che via via da un atmosfera lenta quasi mistica arriva alla parte finale con degli shred azzeccatissimi ma mai fuori luogo, che fanno di questa canzone una piccola gemma. D'altronde Vai registrò in particolare questa canzone in un periodo dove non mangiò per 10 giorni, registrandola il 4° giorno, per creare in lui quello stato mentale preciso che avrebbe dato alla song quel tocco epico/mistico. In The Audience is Listening troviamo un bambino (immaginando lo stesso Steve) che inizia a suonare una canzone scritta per gli amici, e che canzone: energica, solare, ritmi veloci...E non poteva mancare la citazione al maestro ispiratore che risponde al nome di Frank Zappa in Alien Water Kiss, con il suo allucinante insieme di suoni e melodie senza un apparente senso logico.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Un album che consacrò la storia di un chitarrista che di lì in avanti lo avrebbe portato nella lista dei chitarristi più conosciuti e importanti della storia del rock, e che dimostra come la tecnica debba essere posta al servizio della moltissime band in quel periodo, a Los Angeles, terreno fertile per l'hair metal e l'hard rock.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Dopo aver firmato un contratto per la MCA il gruppo da alla luce il suo primo disco intitolato Psycho Cafè.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Il genere proposto però non è il classico rock zuccheroso classico in quegli anni, ma un hard rock solido e deciso, impreziosito da ritmi funk.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Grazie a questo tipo di musica riuscirono a guadagnarsi un discreto successo che li portò alla posizione 158 della classifica Billboard statunitense e a vari passaggi su MTV.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;Musicalmente abbiamo un mix tra Guns n' roses e Aerosmith: infatti mentre riff e sonorità ricordano molto la band di Slash &amp;amp; co.., vocalmente Joe LeSte ricorda moltissimo il cantato graffiante, rauco e aggressivo di Steven Tyler, destreggiandosi benissimo in queste sonorità quasi funk offrendo una buonissima prova.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;Le canzoni scivolano via facilmente delineando poche cadute di tono, da citare la splendida Just For You (qualcuno ha detto Patience dei Guns n' roses? ndr) completamente acustica, o le varie Do What You're Told (fantastico l'intro del basso in slap) Love Injection, Breaking Up A Heart of Stone.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;Menzione d'onore per il bassista, protagonista forse più delle parti di chitarra, che riesce a creare groove assolutamente preziosi all'economia del disco, grazie ad una produzione che lo mette in evidenza con un volume abbastanza alto del suo strumento, arrivando a costeggiare lidi puramente funk.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:medium;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" Proprio dalla terra di Tempest &amp;amp; Co. che arrivano gli H.E.A.T, che hanno preso al volo tutto quello che era stato fatto fin ora, creando un mix assolutamente esplosivo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;"H.E.A.T."&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Canzoni come Late Night Lady, Never Let Go o Keep on Dreamin dimostrano quanto questi 6 ragazzi ci diano dentro con l'anima, avendo il ritmo e il desiderio di far scatenare l'ascoltatore nel sangue, mentre gli episodi meno "festaioli" come le ballad Follow Me o Cry non hanno nulla da invidiare alle dirette o storiche concorrenti di band magari più blasonate (Winger, Danger Danger ecc). Melodie di facile assimilazione, ritornelli da cantare continuamente, frequenti assoli mai scontati o fini a se stessi che si intrecciano con le tastiere onnipresenti, frequenti cori e armonie vocali, il tutto impreziosito da una produzione moderna che scongiura quel senso di "vecchio" che potrebbe scaturire ascoltandoli.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Se fosse uscito nel biennio 89-90 sicuramente avrebbe venduto quelle 3-4 milioni di copie che si merita di diritto.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Voglio spendere una nota di merito però soprattutto al cantante, Kenny Leckremo. Questo giovane ha tutto quello che un cantante dovrebbe avere per il genere proposto: un timbro chiaro e pulito, un estensione vocale paurosa che gli permette di non risparmiarsi MAI dando veramente il massimo in ogni canzone con numerose alzate di tono vistose e acuti veramente potenti senza mai perdere punti neanche nelle parti più calme o nelle canzoni che richiedono una certa atmosfera. Un cantante da tenere d'occhio.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;*l'album proposto è in versione Tour Edition che oltre a contenere alcune canzoni dell'album in versione alternativa, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;contiene alcuni inediti come la canzone con la quale hanno partecipato e raggiunto la finale al Melodifestivalen (una sorta di Sanremo Svedese ma di qualità superiore che decreta il rappresentante svedese per l'Eurovision Song Contest).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" La battaglia sembrava quasi persa in partenza visto l'infinito numero di band provenienti dagli States, alcune delle quali importantissime per il genere, al confronto con i pochi gruppi canadesi. Mentre in campo prog-rock i Saga stavano per pubblicare due dei loro lavori migliori (Worlds Apart - 1981, e Heads or Tales - 1983) in campo Aor si affacciavano gli Sheriff, che diedero la luce il proprio debut e unico album. Il disco fu un concentrato di melodia con grandissime armonie vocali (trainate da Freddy Curci, singer di un talento smisurato con una grandissima estensione)&lt;br /&gt;La band acquistò così popolarità grazie alla ballad scelta come singolo "When i'm with you" che riuscì ad arrivare al numero 1 della classifica canadese nel 1983. Ma non è tutto, dopo ben sei anni dalla scalata della chart canadese, un dj a NY cominciò a farla girare, consentendo in poco tempo di scalare la classifica statunitense arrivando fin all'inarrivabile numero 1 (dopo ben sette anni dall'uscita dell'album).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_H_wjptvaKR8/S_b297W2pYI/AAAAAAAAAAo/tNuMTXVhTE0/s1600/200px-Alias_cover_art.jpg"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;"Alias"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fu proprio grazie al successo di When i'm with you che Freddi Curci e Steve De Marchi (pure lui negli Sheriff alla chitarra) decisero di tornare sulla scena. E il risultato fu dei più grandi nella storia del rock melodico. Un album da avere assolutamente. Tutto è mischiato come si deve, con poche sbavature o fuori pista. La voce di Freddi come sempre pulita, fresca, melodica e potente ci guida verso brani in cui solo la MELODIA fa da padrone. Il tutto condito dalle semplici ma mai scontate linee di chitarra di Steve, con un gusto sopraffino. Solida la sezione ritmica, che senza strafare fa il proprio compito in maniera ottimale. Personalmente credo che il punto forte sia il già citato Curci, con una voce che ti rimane in testa, con quei ritornelli di facile assimilazione, e quei cori di una potenza devastante (cito Haunted Heart, What To Do o One More Change). Menzione a parte per la ballad di turno che ogni gruppo del genere ha nel proprio repertorio e che ha fatto sognare centinaia di ragazzi e ragazze: More than words can say. Supportata da un video adatto per l'occasione, la si può definire la When i'm with you degli anni 90, patinata e romantica al punto giusto, compresa la nota finale che Curci tiene sospesa per un po' (quasi a ricordare i 20 secondi finali di WIWY in cui tiene una nota fino a svanire...). Erno Vuorinen ha fatto centro.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Heart full of fire è un disco potente e melodico come pochi in questi ultimi anni. Ogni membro della band esprime il massimo, dalla voce di Heino alle tastiere onnipresenti di Tomppa Nikulainen, vero punto di forza.
